Project Stage

In order to achieve a biggest possible impact, each and every project should be crafted carefully without necessarily being rigid or inflexible given changes in circumstances. We follow and modify project stage category of data.org in classifying our projects according to its stage.

Normally it all started with an idea, either generated from methodical analytical works over certain set of data or simply just a fruit of a cup of tea or coffee chit chat over so many problems and challenges facing Indonesia. The idea or a proposed solution to a certain problem would then be implemented at a pilot scale to test all the underlying assumptions as well as to figure out its effects on the subject matter. The next stage is scaling up if it is safe to assume that implementation of the idea at larger scale means larger impact can be achieved.

The last stage in our project is to replicate the proposed solution in other contexts and locations. However, based on our experience, not all pilot should and could be expanded in to bigger scale. There is usually a certain project that is unique and should be kept at its own scale and context. Therefore, we add another type of project namely “ngamumule”. It is a Sundanese means maintaining the existing of something due to its uniqueness and inherent value.

IDEA

A proposed solution to a problem that require research, prototyping, and early testing to assess its viability.

PILOT

Early implementation of the idea to test its underlying assumptions and to figure out its effects on a given context and problem.

SCALING

Moving beyond pilots given safe assumption that larger scale of the project means larger impacts.

REPLICATION

Project with positive impact or project with sufficiently robust framework and evidence of its outcome (either success or failure) might be implemented in different contexts and locations.

NGAMUMULE (MAINTAIN)

Project that is unique and should be kept at its own scale and context. It is a Sundanese means maintaining the existing of something due to its uniqueness and inherent value.
